You asked for a website and we delivered!
Welcome to our new website! We wanted to use this blog format because it is free, fun, and user friendly.
SSU is currently organizing a rally for November 5, 2008 in the Free Speech Zone on the University of Kentucky’s campus. The details are still in the works, but we’re planning live music by local bands The Infected and Loose Change. There will also be free food and guest speakers to educate us about the fight for accessible higher education in the U.S.and abroad.
We know November 5 is the day after our election, so morale could be very high or very, very low. We did not choose this day for political purposes- it is the International Day of Action and we will be joined via Skype by students from across the globe who are also struggling for affordable education.
With global economic markets on the brink of collapse, concerns of education funding (as well as basic human needs) is quick becoming the catalyst for major social movements who seek to guarantee our collective qualities of life.
Join us November 5 and be part of the movement that is fighting for your right to accessible education!
